LEAD ENGINEER - POWER (STEAM GENERATION AND MECHANICAL EQUIPMENT)

Job Summary: Responsible for the mechanical design, engineering, construction, installation, test and commissioning of the Heat Recovery Steam Generation (Boiler) and associated power island equipment from concept to hand-over
To undertake consulting, technical advisory, OE, PMC, EPCM and O+M roles at senior engineering level
Direct technical support to the Power CSG Manager

Duties and Responsibilities:
Check and review of the engineering design of the HRSG of the power island, its components and associated equipment
Preparation/review of technical specifications, requisitions for procurement and cost estimates
Prepare/review thermodynamic process cycles, water/steam cycle
Prepare schedules, plan and work procedures
Prepare the scope of work for all mechanical sub-systems and BOP
Co-ordinate engineering design and interface engineering between the power island and all sub-systems and BOP
Oversee the preparation technical drawings and documentation
Supervise all aspects of engineering works
Prepare technical proposals and estimation of workloads
Technical bid evaluation, Vendor drawing review, Factory inspection tests
Direct focus and support to clients
Technical supervision of mechanical designers and draftsmen
Project management and construction supervision (as required)
Quality Assurance Responsible for working within the provisions and guidelines of the Quality Assurance system relevant to the Business Unit



Requirements
Bachelors Degree in Mechanical Engineering

Minimum 8 years of Engineering, Construction and Commissioning experience in Thermal Power Plants, Combined Cycle Power Plants or Cogeneration Plants

Experience in the Middle East preferred, as is direct work experience with a OEM

Working knowledge of industry standards/codes

Must have proven project management skills
