RESPONSIBILITIES
Evaluation of international standards and justification of product compliance to such
Preparation of testing procedures, determine timelines & resources
Monitor and report on such tests
Preparation of material & product specifications (quality testing procedures if applicable)
Verify designs, check drawings, check quotes, and assist in justifications
Preparation of technical papers to support committee work and business development
Work with sales & product mgmnt groups to harvest product ideas from customer
Prepare test plans, determine timelines & resources, monitor

REQUIREMENTS
At least 10 years experience in engineering within the rail industry with responsibilities for rail product development or testing.
Engineering degree required, preferably in mechanical engineering, materials sciences, and metallurgy.
Computer skills - MS Word, Excel and AutoCAD Solidworks proficiency.
Must possess competent analytical skills as evidenced by: submission of past technical reports generated during project-related work & design analysis generated as a result of project work.
Must be capable of interacting with customers, vendors and other departments in an effective and team oriented way.
Must possess product design/development experience as evidenced by examples of completed designs.
Must possess ability to write competent and comprehensive project reports, customer communications, work instructions, operating manuals, and presentations.
Must have experience preparing project plans, timelines and resource requirements.
15-20% travel.
