This role is to work as part of an engineering team, taking a senior role in project work, focused on production and client liaison and mentoring and coaching junior members of the team.
Ideally you will have experience of design in all the major construction materials to British Standards and be able to demonstrate the ability to consistently meet deadlines. The role includes meetings with the client, contractors and other designers. Site visits will also be required to monitor whether the construction is in accordance with the design and to resolve site queries. The candidate should be perceptive to opportunities for new business and provide feedback to senior members of staff.
Having a minimum of a BEng or MEng degree in Structural or Civil engineering disciplineyou will be ideally you will be Chartered, Incorporated Engineers or close to obtaining the qualification.
Experience in the design of post-tensioned slabs, conventional reinforced concrete and structural steel for significant projects.
Experience of foundation design should include piles, spread foundations, rafts and basement construction. Experience in the design of other materials is desirable but not essential. Design experience must adhere to British Standards and Codes. In taking a leading role in projects you should have experience of attending client meetings and other design team members; liaising and co-ordinating with the design team; directing and monitoring support engineers and CAD staff; planning work and quality control.
