We are looking for a Senior Systms Engineer to work for a large railways contractor based in Leicester.
Tasks
Responsible for technical and engineering elements of projects and products which requires knowledge of systems design, development of systems design and associated decision making as applied to the Rail Industry.
Responsibility for design, implementation, test, installation and support of SCADA / PLC control and monitoring systems, predominantly in the Rail sector.
Responsible for technical and engineering element of a project, product, tender, key account area or work package item
Responsible for estimating cost resources programme and risk for engineering projects and activities
Responsible for achieving budgets timescale quality and performance targets
Individuals may at times have project responsibility for an engineering team and will be responsible for ensuring that all work is conducted safely and to the required standards
Responsible for maintaining and developing own professional competence and encouraging and assisting persons working under their supervision
Responsible for ensuring that persons working under their supervision are competent to carry out tasks assigned to them and that they accept personal responsibility for work done under the authority delegated to them
Education
Systems engineering, Process Automation, Electrical, Electronic and or Software Engineering Degree level (or equivalent) and have experience in control systems engineering in the Rail, Transport or Process Industry. Chartered Engineer or demonstrate that they are working towards professional accreditation with a relevant institution.
Experience
Broad engineering experience relevant to business group; Systems engineering, Process Automation, Electrical, Electronic and or Software Experience of product development and project engineering and engineering process
