My market leading Telco client in the North West is looking to appoint a Systems Engineer. The job holder will be educated in an IT related subject; will have in depth understanding of Servers (hardware and software), and solid experience of Unix based operating systems. (Red Hat, Debian, Centos, Fedora, Solaris, etc), and associated Internet Technologies Email, HTTP, FTP, TCPIP, Networking. The successful candidate will have experience of the following.
Designing, implementing and Troubleshooting Unix based Systems
Designing, Implementing and Troubleshooting common Internet middleware/application layer products such as
Apache, Tomcat
Mysql, FreeRadius
Exim, SMTP/POP/IMAP/Webmail, FTP
NetApp,
Nagios, SNMP, RRD.
Network management protocols and tools MRTG and Cacti.
Strong Unix / Linux Systems Admin to at least scripting level shell scripting - BASH / Perl experience
SNMP monitoring and notification traps.
DNS
NettApps Filers
IBM Bladecenters.
IronPort mail Appliances
Previous experience of C+/++
Understanding of ITIL processes
