i'm currently recruiting on behalf of my client for Civil Field Engineer which is based in Salalah,Oman.The project start in AUG 2010 so the candidate must be available immediately.Below are the details:

Primary Purpose-As part of the owner's engineer site team to monitor the EPC contractor's construction activities for compliance with the EPC contract. Identify and resolve issues so that project schedule and quality are not affected. Ensure owner's intrests are protected.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities-Represents the owner as the owner's engineer. Monitors work by the EPC contractor to ensure compliance to the EPC contract. Monitors construction activities for compliance with the schedule and quality standards. Provides technical direction and interpretation of design drawings and specification requirements. May sign off on field designs or re-designs performed in the field. Reviews, maintains records, and responds to Contractor Information Requests. Maintains a daily log for site record purposes.

Minimum Qualifications-Must be near fluent in spoken and writen Mandarin Chinese. Must have good spoken and written English skills. Eight plus years construction management experience on large civil projects.

Preferred Job Qualifications-Degree in Civil Engineering from a recognized university. International construction experience. Middle East experience.
