We are currently seeking an Electrical Engineer for a field assignment.
The successful candidate will have a BS in Electrical Engineering with a background in the Electrical/ Construction Industry working as an Electrical Engineer.
A thorough knowledge of Pulp and Paper and Power Plant construction is a plus.
A thorough knowledge of instrumentation and the ability to perform the routine aspects of Electrical Engineering assignments is required.
Candidates must be able read P&ID's and identify items (equipment, valves, instruments, piping, etc.) in the field. Candidates need knowledge of AutoCAD, Microsoft Word, Excel and Access. Candidates need to know how to do take-offs and estimating.
Candidates will be familiarity with providing the programs, staff and operating procedures of the company, perform electrical design calculations (i.e., 480/4160 VAC SLD, Motor Elementary, Conduit Schedules, Power Studies, etc.), controls and instrumentation design (i.e., PLC & DCS I/O card diagrams, Logic And SAMA diagrams, Instrument Specifications, etc.) sketches, technical comparisons and similar technical work as required by assignment.
The Field Electrical Engineer will coordinate project assignments with those of other Engineers and Technicians in their discipline group, review drawings supplied by vendors, clients and Engineers and recommend necessary changes, research design options and documents findings for Project Engineers and/or Project Managers, and assist with other duties assigned by Project Engineers and/or Project Managers.
He may also attend "kick-off" and design review meetings and interact with Clients.
