JOB DESCRIPTION

Develop and process Mechanical Maintenance Procedures ( and revisions ) for Fuel Handling Systems, upenders, spent fuel pool equipment, and Air Handling Units of any type. Also, develop and process all types of plant pumps, high pressure turbines, low pressure turbines, generators, vibration testing, equipment lubrication, and assorted mechanical components . Work with Work Control Maintenance Procedure Team personnel, Maintenance Technicians, Maintenance Technical Support, Engineering, QA, Cross Disciplinary groups, and Maintenance Management to develop and process Work Control Maintenance procedures. Apply mechanical maintenance technical knowledge to procedure development. Incorporate and comply with the requirements of applicable NSDs, SDs, MDs, WPGs, and the Procedure Writers Manual. Coordinate Periodic Reviews and Validations. Effectively use MS Word, Procedure Templates, Template Macros, and document storage software (NEDL Scribe). Effectively use Document Change Request program (DocuTracks). Manage procedure backlog. Proofread documents. Schedule QR reviews with Engineering and Maintenance Technical Support. Perform PIP Corrective Actions and Problem Evaluations. Meet On-Line and Outage procedure scheduling milestones. Qualify to Work Control Maintenance Procedure Writer Position Specific Guide requirements.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

1. High School education or equivalent.
2. Have at least 5 years training and experience in Mechanical field.
3. Have at least 4 years mechanical experience at a nuclear operating site.
4. Have at least 1 year maintenance procedure writing experience.
5. Have obtained unrestricted access to a nuclear operating site within the past 5 years.
6. Have obtained basic nuclear station systems training at a nuclear operating site.
7. Have obtained procedure writing training/qualifications at a nuclear operating site.
8. Have performed mechanical maintenance procedures at a nuclear operating site.

DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS

1. 2 year Mechanical technical degree ( or greater ).
2. 2 years experience as a Nuclear mechanical maintenance procedure writer within the past 7 years.
3. Demonstrated strong problem solving and technical research skills.
4. Demonstrated ability to work independently and be self motivated.
5. Demonstrated ability to write in a clear, concise, and organized manner.
6. Demonstrated ability to work with others to accomplish team goals.
7. Demonstrated effective time management and negotiation skills.

9. Demonstrated ability to evaluate and interpret standards, directives, and regulations.
10. Demonstrated basic knowledge of manufacturer's documentation and specifications.
11. Demonstrated experience with application software (e.g., Microsoft Windows XP, Office 2003 or later, Outlook, MS Reports, Passport (WMS), NEDL Portal, etc).
12. Demonstrated ability to coordinate and plan procedure revisions, upgrades, new development, and verification/validation processes within required time limits.
13. Demonstrated experience of using procedure processes, TS/SLC, FSAR, COLR, Design Basis, QA Topical, Engineering Changes, and EQ & QC Programs.
14. Demonstrated experience with Microsoft Word 2003 or later, DocuTracks (PCR tracking tool), NEDL Scribe (EDM storage tool), Excel, Access, and NEDL Portal/ISYS.
15. Demonstrated experience of using Procedure Writers Manual, graphic programs and Microsoft Word Templates.
16. Demonstrated knowledge of M&TE, Testing, Preventive Maintenance, Periodic Reviews, Safety Tagging, ASME, Out of Tolerances, and Control Room Alarms.
17. Demonstrated knowledge of Human Factors, Reactivity Management, Risk & Configuration Management, Commitments, and Procedure Use & Adherence.
18. Willing to work emergent overtime and serve on rotating call outs for assigned duty weeks during annual Outages or Unit Threat situations on an as needed basis.

WORKING CONDITIONS

Normal 4/10 schedule with occasional overtime. Mostly office environment with routine visits to Maintenance team work areas and Engineering. Some plant equipment and work observations. Significant time spent using a computer.
