Position: Power Process Design Engineer
Location: Greenville/Spartanburg, SC
Qualifications:
Bachelors or Masters Degree in Mechanical or Chemical Engineering
7+ years experience working at an Architect/Engineering firm as power plant design engineer or a major equipment supplier
Candidates should also have experience with combined cycle plant design, thermal power plants including
PC, CFB and/or supercritical, industrial power plants burning solid fuel, such as biomass, and WTE.
Experience in Pulp & Paper power and recovery is a plus.
Field experience is also desirable.
Willingness to Travel - Occasionally

Job Description:
Power Engineering group completes studies and designs for a wide variety of power and energy projects.
The power engineering group has a legacy of industrial, pulp & paper and utility power projects which goes back over 50 years. The group performs studies, cycle analysis, and detailed design of power plants ranging from: chemical recovery and biomass boilers in the pulp & paper industry; gas turbines as part of simple and combined cycle plants; to thermal utility and industrial plants consisting of boilers of a wide variety of types and fuels. Projects have also included power plant air pollution control systems including FGD and SCR systems.
Projects over the years have included some of the leading edge technologies, such as solar thermal, geothermal, wind, renewable fuels, the latest gas turbines and steam turbines, bubbling fluidized bed boilers, and circulating fluidized bed boilers.
In this position the engineers work includes responsibility of plant mechanical/process design, including equipment and system sizing, equipment specification, cycle analysis, water balances, P&ID's, and lead coordination with the other disciplines.
