Job Description
As a Signal Design Manager you will have relevant experience in the design of signalling layouts, control tables and circuits, plus a broad knowledge of rail industry practice. You will also have proven ability to lead and manage design teams and resources.

Requirements
You will:
have relevant and sufficient experience in the design of signalling layouts, control tables and circuits, plus a broad knowledge of rail industry practice.
be familiar with railway standards is essential.
have proven ability to lead and manage design teams and resources.
Be able to plan and undertake railway safety critical duties to facilitate track access in both red and green zone environments.

Qualifications:
HNC/HND or equivalent but additional relevant experience may be accepted in lieu
IRSE Design Managers License or working towards.
PTS is a requirement of this role.

Responsibilities
Deliver multi disciplinary design to meet company standards, procedures and deadlines.
Supervise and check the work of other staff.
When required, to undertake the roles of Project Manager, Activity Manager, Designer, Checker and Approver as defined in the Quality Manual and the competency appraisal processes.
Undertake the role of CRE / RDE for signalling design projects.
Conduct and certify that reasonable professional skill and care are used within interdisciplinary design checking procedures.
Take responsibility for the day to day management and coordination of the design activities of the Bristol and Reading Design Offices.
